John Wernz joins the Pocketnest team as an investor, marketing advisor on the Pocketnest Board of Advisors, fintech expert and all-around good dude
Pocketnest scoops up another investment, this time from John Wernz, who has deep roots and decades of experience in the marketing, wealth management, financial and fintech industries.
Given his unique talents and expertise in such relevant industries, Wernz also joins the Pocketnest Board of Advisors as a marketing expert.

Hailing from Minnesota, Wernz has a 10-year tenure as the Chief Marketing Officer at the Wealth Enhancement Group (WEG). He built the financial planning brand of one of the fastest-growing registered investment advisors (RIAs) in the country, driving multiple private equity transactions and cultivating a growth team that increased annual organic assets flows fivefold. His decades-long experience also includes leading an agency of 100+ people and working with industry-leading companies, including Fisher Investments, Mutual of Omaha, H&R Block and Physicians Mutual Insurance.
As Pocketnest continues its growth trajectory—having secured more than $1.4M in funding, grown enterprise sales at a 21 percent monthly rate, and increased users by 428 percent year over year—Wernz will bring strategic guidance for both sales and marketing efforts in the B2B, B2C, and B2B2C spaces.
Wernz rounds out the Pocketnest Board of Advisors, accompanying fellow serial entrepreneurs Lauren Bigelow, Growth Capital Network; Patti Glaza, ID Ventures; Ian Sefferman, Undefined; Charley McQueen, McQueen Financial Advisors; Joe Saad, Diag Partners; and Ellen Rachlin, Blue Leaf Ventures. He officially joined the Pocketnest team May 2021.
