("Pocketnest," "we," "us," or "our") provides a comprehensive personal financial planning platform licensed to financial institutions, credit unions, banks, and employers as an employee wellness tool. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and delete personal information when you use our mobile application and associated services (collectively, the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

• Device information: device type, operating system, browser type, and unique device identifiers

• Usage data: pages visited, links clicked, features used, IP address, referring sites, and interaction patterns

• Analytics data: collected via Google Analytics and Segment to help us understand and improve platform usage

• Allow you to sign in to your account and maintain your session

3. Information Shared with Third Parties

 

Your Financial Institution

If you access Pocketnest through a financial institution's white-labeled version of our platform, the following information may be shared with that institution:

• Account information: email address, name, and date of birth

• Financial planning details: information about your income tax, estate, cash flow, net worth, debt, college savings, insurance, investments, retirement, and financial plan

• Aggregated, anonymized usage data that cannot be linked back to any individual user

 

Your Employer

If you access Pocketnest as an employee benefit, your personal information and financial details will NOT be shared with your employer. We may share only aggregated, anonymized usage data that cannot be linked back to any individual.

 

Third-Party Affiliate Partners

Under most partnerships, we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties. However, under certain clearly defined partnerships, we may share your personal information with third-party affiliate partners to provide products and services relevant to your interests. This is done only with your explicit awareness and consent.

 

Other Disclosures

• Legal compliance: we may disclose data to comply with a law, regulation, or valid legal process (e.g., subpoena or court order). Where permitted, we will notify you in advance by email.

• Business transfers: we may disclose data in connection with a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of assets. We will notify you if a different company receives your personal information.

• Security: we may disclose data to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pocketnest, its employees, users, or others.

4. Data Retention

 

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the App's services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Specific retention periods are as follows:

 

• Account and Financial Planning Data: Retained for the duration of your active account. Upon account deletion, this data is permanently deleted from active systems within 30 days and from backup systems within 90 days.

• Usage and Analytics Data: Retained for up to 24 months to support product improvement and platform analytics. After this period, data is anonymized or deleted.

• Device and Log Data: Retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostic purposes, then automatically purged.

• Communications and Support Records: Retained for up to 3 years after your last interaction or account closure for legal and dispute resolution purposes.

• Financial/Transaction Records: Retained for up to 7 years as required by applicable U.S. tax and financial regulations.

• Plaid-Linked Account Data: Pocketnest stores only the data necessary for your financial wellness journey. Upon account deletion, Pocketnest-held Plaid data is deleted within 30 days. For data held directly by Plaid, please refer to Plaid's Privacy Policy and use Plaid's data deletion tools at plaid.com/legal.

• Google Analytics and Segment Data: Pocketnest does not control the retention of data held by these third-party analytics providers. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and Segment's Privacy Policy for their respective retention practices.

 

We may retain anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you personally for longer periods for analytical and statistical purposes.

5. Data Deletion

 

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. We offer the following methods:

 

Option 1 — Delete from Within the App (Preferred)

• Open the App and navigate to Settings > Delete Your Account

• Confirm your identity when prompted

• Your account and all associated personal data will be scheduled for deletion

• You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete

 

Option 2 — Submit a Request by Email

support@pocketnest.com with the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"

• Include your registered email address and/or username

• We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days of receipt

 

What Happens After a Deletion Request

Upon receiving a verified deletion request, we will:

• Delete or anonymize your personal data from our active systems within 30 days

• Remove your data from backup systems within 90 days

• Send you a confirmation email once deletion is complete

 

Please note that we may retain certain data after a deletion request where required by law (for example, financial records required for tax compliance), to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements. Any retained data will be held only for the minimum period required and will not be used for any other purpose.

Managing Your Preferences

The Settings menu is located in the bottom toolbar of the App after login. From Settings, you can view and update your preferences, notification settings, and account information.

 

Your Data Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@pocketnest.com. We will respond within 30 days.

 

• Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

• Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data. You can also update certain information directly in your account settings.

• Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (see Section 5 above).

• Right to Data Portability: Request a machine-readable export of the personal data you have provided to us.

• Right to Withdraw Consent: Where our processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us or updating your in-app preferences.

• Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.

 

Removing Marketing Emails

You can stop receiving marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send you.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Our infrastructure is hosted on Amazon AWS, and all data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Role-based access controls are enforced at each infrastructure layer, and multi-factor authentication is required for access to sensitive systems. Access logs are stored centrally and monitored.

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior data. We use cookies to:

• Keep you signed in to your account

• Understand how you use our platform

• Support advertising and remarketing (where applicable)

We link financial accounts through Plaid, a third-party financial data integrator. Plaid enables Pocketnest to assemble a complete financial profile and deliver personalized recommendations through secure tokenization. Pocketnest stores only the data necessary for your financial wellness journey, with your explicit permission. We encourage you to read Plaid's Privacy Policy. FindMoney by FinGoal

We integrate with FindMoney by FinGoal to identify micro-savings opportunities and provide more customized recommendations. We encourage you to read FinGoal's Privacy Policy.

 

Google Analytics and Segment

We use Google Analytics and Segment to understand platform usage and improve our services. These providers collect usage data subject to their own privacy policies. 10. Children's Privacy

Pocketnest is not directed at children under the age of 13, and they may not create an account or otherwise use our platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us at support@pocketnest.com, and we will promptly delete such information.

11. Geographic Scope

We currently offer services only to individuals in the United States of America, including U.S. citizens residing outside the U.S. We are based in Detroit, Michigan.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes that affect your rights, we will notify you by posting an announcement in the App or sending you an email before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will always reflect the most recent revision.
