Twice a year each year, Renaissance Venture Capital hosts its DEI UnDemo Day virtual event bringing together some of the region’s top early-stage companies and technologies with venture capital investors from around the country.

Pocketnest was among the few startups selected to share a live pitch at the event this year.

The virtual event is designed exclusively to attract national venture capital to diverse founders in the Midwest and Central U.S. This event highlights startups led by women, people of color, and other diverse communities—and so, naturally, Pocketnest, the Certified Women's Business Enterprise, was selected.

DEI UnDemo Day® features large group “pitch rooms” and hundreds of curated one-on-one meetings between startups and VCs. At its inaugural DEI UnDemo Day® in 2022, the organization curated more than 400 1-on-1 meetings between diverse founders and prospective investors. Needless to say, pitching at this event—and participating in the many 1:1 investor meetings (think speed dating) afterward—is well worth it. Each year, Pocketnest gets exposure to investors from across the country, not to mention top client prospects.

Renaissance Venture Capital, the event organizer, partners with Pocketnest investor Invest Detroit Ventures and other big-name sponsors including Ernst & Young, Foley & Lardner, Robar PR, and Amy Cell Talent to make the event a success for all involved.

In addition to pitching at Renaissance Venture Capital's annual event, we've been on a roll this Spring. Our CEO and founder, Jessica Willis has pitched at countless events including Fintech Meetup and Dealmakers; and our CMO Ashleigh Craven pitched at the Bank of America-sponsored Winston Starts annual investor forum.
